Good evening friends,
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose; beside restful waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul." Psalm 23
When I think of the Lord as a vigilant shepherd, who protects and provides for us as His beloved flock, my heart feels lighter and I find it easier to see the beauty in this life. For all of us, perhaps It's been hard to see the hand of God in this time, or to wonder where He has been. The Mass readings for this weekend (which may be found here) make it clear that the Good Shepherd never deserts His flock, but is the one who brings us into the flock and keeps us there. The Good Shepherd calls his flock by name, he calls you and me by name, to Himself and opens His Sacred Heart to us. I pray you might feel the comforting touch of Jesus the Good Shepherd in your own heart, where He fills you with the "restful waters" of His love and refreshes your soul.
This note is a bit shorter this weekend because there will be another note early in the week about resuming public Masses, and the details you all will need to know. Also, we will include a Mass and Confession schedule, since we will transition back to more of the regular Cathedral liturgy schedule when public Masses resume.
Please let's keep each other in prayer. I pray that Christ the Good Shepherd would watch over you and protect you.

Mass Tickets for Children in Sacramental Prep
Since the suspension of public Masses, we are no longer collecting Mass tickets for children in First Communion prep or the youth in Confirmation prep. Some parents have been asking.
Totus Tuus Canceled
Yesterday the Diocese announced that Totus Tuus is cancelled for this summer, given the need to take precautions as the Covid19 threat continues. It is with sadness that I deliver this message, because it is disappointing to so many in our parish, especially our youth who have had such a wonderful time at Totus Tuus in previous years. God-willing, we will have Totus Tuus again in the summer of 2021.
How to Pray with the Scriptures - Lectio Divina
Lectio Divina is an ancient way of praying with the Bible, and learning to be fed by the Word of God. It is a way that is open to each and everyone of us to grow in the life of Christ. I wholeheartedly encourage you to learn how to pray using Lectio Divina. See this short guide here to learn how the steps, or check out this helpful video here. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact one of the priests. We would be glad to help you learn how to pray through Lectio Divina.
Confessions:
Monday - Friday: 11am-12pm and 7-8pm
Saturday: 3-4pm and 6:30-7pm
Sunday: 12-12:30pm
The Church is open for private prayer Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm. Please enter through the south entrance by the office, and ring the bell to the Church office.

Buenas tardes hermanos,
"El Señor es mi pastor, nada me falta; en verdes praderas me hace reposar y hacia fuentes tranquilas me conduce para reparar mis fuerzas."
Cuando yo medito en el Señor como un pastor vigilante, que nos protege y proporciona para nosotros como su querido rebaño, se siente más ligero mi corazon y está más fácil ver la belleza de esta vida. Para todos nosotros, tal vez ha sido difícil ver la mano de Dios en este tiempo de pandemia, o preguntarnos dónde Dios ha estado en todo que está pasando. Las lecturas de la Misa de este fin de semana (que se encuentren aquí) dejan en claro que el Buen Pastor nunca abandona a su rebaño, sino que es él que nos lleva al rebaño en el primer lugar y nos mantiene allí, seguros en el rebaño. El Buen Pastor llama a su rebaño por su nombre, él nos llama a ustedes y a mí por nombre hacía a Él mismo, y él nos abre su Sagrado Corazón. Yo rezo para que sientas el toque reconfortante de Jesús el Buen Pastor en tu propio corazón, donde Él les llena con las "fuentes tranquilas" de Su amor y repara sus fuerzas.
Este boletín es un poco más corta este fin de semana porque habrá otro boletín a principios de la semana sobre la reanudación de las Misas públicas, y los detalles que todos necesitarán saber. Además, les proporcionaré un horario de Misas y Confesiones, ya que regresaremos al horario normal de liturgias cuando se reanuden las Misas públicas.
Por favor, mantengamos el uno al otro en oración. Ruego que Cristo el Buen Pastor los cuide y los proteja.
